011: Birthday faerie

Today's card features an image from my Enchanted CD rom. The artwork is by Linda Ravenscroft and i think her faeries are just beautiful.

Sorry for the bad photos, i'm still trying to figure out how to take good ones

The backing paper is also from the cd rom, and is a matching paper to the image. I really like the paper actually and will propably end up using it in lots of other ways too. The sentiment is from a do crafts pack, and i used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the yellow card and punched the border with the Martha Stewart poinsettia flourish punch. Everything else is from stock.

A close up of the beautiful faerie. She really is stunning.

010: First card!

This morning i was able to finally get my first card made. It took me a good couple of hours, with the colouring in of the image but i really enjoyed it. I am quite pleased with the result, but i still have so far to go. As i mentioned a couple of posts down i originally wanted to make this card for my brother's birthday, but my promarkers took too long to arrive so i've made it anyway.

The image by Kenny K. As soon as i saw it i knew it was perfect for my brother. He loves guitars and sexy girls, so two of his favourite things in one lol. I think she is lovely too, and whill colour her in purple and black and pink and black sometime in the future. She was coloured in promarkers as follows:

Clothes: Poppy, crimson, ruby, cool grey 5 and black
Guitar: Gold, cool grey 5, ice grey 5, ice grey 4
Hair: Black, cool grey 5, ice grey 4
Skin: Blush, almond, sunkissed pink

The papers are free papers that i downloaded from Jak Heath's blog. She has them in all different colours.

The red card is cardstock and the sentiment was from a stamp set i got from creat and craft.

A close up of the colouring. Can anyone give me tips on how to stop the colours bleeding outside the line? It got quite messy with that happening. I used super smooth printer paper, i don't know if that's why? Anyway, i think i have done an ok job for a first attempt. The black in the hair could do with being blended a bit more too, so i will work on that next time.

I wish to enter this card into the following two challenges:

Magical Monday: Gothic Angelz
Totally paperccrafts: Happy birthday

Thank you for looking :)

009: Finally

My pens turned up today, much to my excitement. Sadly i have to go to work in an hour, so idon't have time to play today. But tomorrow i will hopefully finally be able to have a mess around and maybe get a card made. I can't wait

008: Booo

Well my pens haven't turned up yet so i wasn't able to make my brother's birthday card. It's been a week now, i'm getting a little angry. I'm used to gettting stuff within a couple of days. I had to resort to buying him a shop bought card which he loved, but that's not the point. I was looking forward to making this card.

I'll still make it though, just whenever my pens turn up x.x

007: Almost ready!

My fingers are itching to start making cards but i am still waiting for a few basic items to turn up.

For Christmas i got a cuttlebug (a pink one no less!) that came as part of a deal with some papers and embossing folders. I also got a couple of Martha Stewart punches.

Seperate to that i've treated myself to a full set of promarkers, and can't wait for them to arrive so i can start experimenting with them. I'm also waiting for the Martha Stewart Cherish punch around the page set that i've ordered and i have a few stamps and stuff coming too. Everything just seems so delayed right now!

It's my little brother's birthday on Wednesday so i want the stuff to turn up before then, i have an idea for a card for him and i really want to make it. Here's to hoping my stuff turns up in time
